Day 1: Tuesday

Depart Brisbane on an overnight journey on the Westlander to Charleville. There are no single berth cabins available on this train journey.

Day 2: Wednesday (L,D)

Arrive in Charleville for a brief look-about tour prior to a welcome lunch at the Cosmos Centre. We then travel through red earth Mulga country and into open Mitchell grass plains. Arrive at 'Nardoo Station' mid afternoon and check in and enjoy a Hot Artesian Spa with a welcome 'Happy Hour' and Dinner. Overnight Nardoo Station

Day 3: Thursday (B,L,D)

This morning enjoy a walking tour of Nardoo Station Precinct. Take in the shearing shed and hot artesian bore and cattle yards. Travel via Cunnamulla heading west to explore the sleepy little town of Eulo. Visit the Date Farm Gift Shop, General Store, 'Bilby Burrow' Art Gallery. Enjoy a break at Lake Bindegolly NP. Arriving into the quaint town of Thargomindah for a break. Discover at sunset the 'electric' history at the recently re-developed century old bore. Overnight Oasis Motel Thargomindah

Day 4: Friday (B,MT,L,D)

Crossing the Dingo Barrier Fence we travel to the Noccundra Hotel. Travel down to the Warri Gate, into Outback NSW for a picnic lunch. Explore the eastern sections of the Sturt NP enroute to Tibooburra. Traverse floodplains, gibber country, sand hills, and spectacular 'jump up' country arriving in Tibooburra. Spend the rest of the afternoon learning about the amazing explorer Sturt. Enjoy 'Happy Half Hour' soaking up the significance of Sturt's survival in harsh conditions. Overnight Tibooburra.

Day 5: Saturday (B,L,D)

Today travel onto Cameron's Corner heading across the red dunes to Merty Merty for a picnic lunch enroute to the famous Strzelecki Track. We continue through the Strzelecki desert to Innamincka, passing the Moomba Gas instillation. Overnight Innamincka.

Day 6: Sunday (B,L,D)

Today we relax around Cooper Creek. There is much more to Innamincka than meets the eye as we tour the pioneer graves, retrace the last days of Burke and Wills and hear about the town with two Lives. Overnight Innamincka

Day 7: Monday (B,L,D)

Departing for Birdsville we embark on the rich cultural history, visiting the famous Dig Tree. Travelling onto Cordillo Downs we parallel the second corner (by approximately 70kms) "Haddon's Corner" at the top end of the Strzelecki Desert and onto the Cadelga Ruins for a picnic lunch. We venture onto the top end of the Birdsville Track, crossing the mighty Diamantina River an amazing desert community. Overnight Birdsville.

Day 8: Tuesday (B,L,D)

Our morning begins with the famous Birdsville Race Club and discovers the Burke and Wills tree on the Diamantina River. Mid afternoon we head out for happy hour on the amazing red dunes at Big Red. Feel the very soul of Australia as the sun goes down over the heart of the Outback. Back to The Birdsville Pub for dinner, a Flying Doctor Auction and our fun farewell awards. Overnight Birdsville

Day 9: Wednesday (B,L,D)

Departing Birdsville today we travel to the ghost town of Betoota and then moving onto Deon’s Lookout for amazing views of the Diamantina Shire. Travelling onto Windorah where we catch up with the Cooper Creek, yet again making our way up one its major tributaries, the mighty Thomson River, visiting the watering holes of Jundah and Stonehenge great outback communities. Enroute to the famous town of Longreach, realize the freedom of rugged beauty and vast open plains, as we cross the Coolibah lined creeks, a classic outback experience. Overnight Longreach.

Day 10 – Thursday

Departure on the Spirit of the Outback returning home after an amazing lifetime experience exploring one of the world’s last frontiers “The Corner Country” with stories to tell Friends and Family for years

Day 11 – Friday

Return to Roma St Station early morning

N.B. Due to inclement weather conditions and road access in this isolated area, it is compulsory that travel insurance is taken out to cover travel delay expenses in the event of unforeseen circumstances as last minute changes are possible by the operator at short notice.

Some accommodation is shared facilities and is split over multiple accommodation venues. Luggage is restricted to soft baggage of 15kg per person due to specialized Coaches on tour. Excellent washing facilities are available on tour with 3 two night stays.
