Itinerary:

Day 1: Sunday (D)

Arrive via Spirit of the Outback rail journey or Qantas flight and enjoy a Longreach Welcome transfer. Settle in with some leisure time to freshen up. Enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on the mighty Thomson River. Overnight Longreach.

Day 2: Monday (B,L,D)

Discover the challenges of teaching over the airwaves at The Longreach School of the Air. Discover Ilfracombe’s historical Wellshot Hotel and the Wellshot Interpretive Centre. Leisure time to relax or take in a Cobb and Co Coach, Helicopter flight, or Airboat (additional cost, please reserve with your agent to avoid disappointment) ride. Explore the Qantas Founders Museum, including a 747 and 707 secrets tour, the original hanger, sunset and an exclusive dining experience in the main gallery. Overnight Longreach

Day 3: Tuesday (B,L,D)

Departing Longreach experience vast open plains and amongst Jump up hills encounter the secrets of the Australian Age of Dinosaurs laboratory. Learn the legends at the Waltzing Matilda Centre. Explore downtown’s Opal Walk and many other unforgettable features that make a very unique Winton experience. Overnight Longreach

Day 4: Wednesday (B,L,D)

View this country through the eyes of local graziers Bevan and Maree Pearce at Strathmore Station and learn about the challenges of life on the land. Learn the legends of the unsung heroes and pioneers at The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame including a poet’s welcome and the RM Williams Stockman’s Show. Soak up the sunset with the Drover’s Extravaganza Dinner. Be charmed by our outback entertainers and savour the traditional outback themed cuisine with our fun farewell awards. Overnight Longreach.

Day 5: Thursday

Depart via Rail or Air with memories of a lifetime from Longreach, Winton and beyond. Please note: Breakfast is not included on this day
