Day 1: Wednesday (D)

Arrive Longreach via Spirit of the Outback or Qantas Link and enjoy a welcome dinner and tour briefing at your motel. Overnight Longreach

Day 2: Thursday (B,L,D)

View this country through the eyes of local graziers Bevan and Maree Pearce at Strathmore Station and learn about the challenges of operating on the land. Discover Ilfracombe’s historical Wellshot Hotel and the Wellshot Interpretive Centre. After a break explore the Qantas Founders Museum, including a 747 and 707 Secrets tour, the original hanger, sunset under the DC3 and an exclusive dining experience in the main gallery. Day 3: Friday (B,L,D)

Follow down the mighty Thompson River flood plain and Mitchell grass lands to Stonehenge, Jundah and Windorah where the red mulga and the Cooper Creek channel country begins. View Deon’s Lookout with amazing views over the northern extremities of the Strzelecki Desert. Overnight Birdsville Hotel

Day 4: Saturday (B,L,D)

Enjoy a leisurely Birdsville look about, including the Burke and Wills Tree on the Diamantina River, the famous Race Track, Billabong and the ruins of the inland Hospital. Finish the day with an amazing sunset happy hour on Big Red at the Edge of the Simpson Desert National Park. Experience the Flying Doctor Auction with dinner at the Birdsville Hotel. Day 5: Sunday (B,L,D)

Departing Birdsville we discover the Waddi Trees, Cacoory Ruins, Cuttaburra flood plain and onto Bedourie for lunch. Moving north to Eyre creek where the channel country meets the desert we arrive into Boulia. Explore Boulia’s historic stone house and mysterious Min Min Encounter with echoes of the early pioneers. Overnight Boulia

Day 6: Monday (B,L,D)

Experience the picturesque Cawnpore Lookout and contrasting open plains. Savour smoko at Middleton’s Cobb & Co Coach Hotel. Encounter the Woodstock Hills and onto the award winning Waltzing Matilda Centre. After a break discover the Australian Age of Dinosaurs laboratory and soak up an unforgettable sunset and happy hour. Sit back and be entertained by the screening of the Nostalgia Reels at The Royal Mail Open Air Theatre. Overnight Winton.

Day 7: Tuesday (B,L,D)

Travelling to Carisbrooke Station a private pristine wilderness, experience the colourful Cory’s range, also enjoy a mouth watering homestead lunch. Witness the only recorded dinosaur stampede on the planet at Lark Quarry Conservation Park. Overnight Longreach

Day 8: Wednesday (B,L,D)

A relaxing day including a poet’s welcome. Learn the legends of the unsung heroes and pioneers at The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame including the RM Williams Stockman’s Show. Enjoy leisure time prior to soaking up sunset with the Drover’s Extravaganza Dinner. Be charmed by our outback entertainers and savour the traditional outback themed cuisine with our fun farewell awards. Overnight Longreach

Depart via Rail or Air with memories of a lifetime from Longreach, Birdsville and beyond
